Duct Cleaning

Cold air duct cleaning process After 20 years as York-Simcoe's carpet and upholstery cleaner of choice, Champagne Cleaners are getting all their 'ducts in a row', expanding the popular family business to include air duct cleaning.

"We decided to expand our business because our customers were complaining about the high cost of duct cleaning, plus the fact their homes were still dusty - even after having the cleaning done," says Gerry Lloyd, who founded Champagne Cleaners in 1987. "And who knows more about indoor air quality than a carpet-cleaning company," he adds.

Dirty duct systems are a major source of indoor air pollution. The average Canadian home accumulates 40 pounds of dust every year and, at any given time, up to 40 per cent of that dust is in your ducts, reducing the quality of air you breathe. Over time, contaminants build up inside the ductwork, creating an ideal breeding ground for mold, bacteria, fungi and other microbes. By having your ducts cleaned and disinfected, you can kill 99.9% of all bacteria's caused by airborne contaminants and pets. Your air duct system functions as the respiratory system of your home and when it becomes contaminated and congested, it should be cleaned. "If your home's respiratory system gets contaminated, so does your body's," says Gerry.

Air duct cleaning is a proactive solution to those problems. It enhances air quality, improves overall air circulation, eliminated dust build-up and contaminants and extends the life of your heating and cooling systems.

Since 1987, when Gerry and Theresa Lloyd opened a small shop in Keswick, the Lloyd family has always prided itself on high-quality work. They have won the Readers' Choice Award as best carpet-cleaning company for the last three years.

"At the same time as we're saying thanks to all our carpet and uphosltery customers for their patronage over the last 20 years, we're also looking forward to serving them - and many new cleaning clients - for the next 20 years," says Gerry.
